EP550, EP350 and EP150 Belting Fabric Shipped to Uzbekistan: A Division of Roles Within One Conveyor System

A shipment of belting fabric has recently been completed and dispatched to Uzbekistan. The order includes three specifications: EP550, EP350 and EP150.

Belting fabric is the common English term for fabric used as the carcass material in conveyor belts. Different specifications correspond to different sections of a conveyor system. When three specifications appear in the same order, it is usually not a random mix, but a selection made according to where each material will be used. For buyers, the real question is not “which specification is the strongest,” but “which specification fits which position better.”

EP550: Heavy-Duty Sections After Primary Crushing in Mining

In recent years, Uzbekistan has concentrated investment in mining, metallurgy and building materials. Gold and uranium mines in the Navoi region, the copper-molybdenum mining area around Almalyk, and the coal mine in Angren all place high demands on the impact resistance and low elongation of conveyor belt carcass materials for ore transfer after primary crushing.

Below the primary crusher, material size is large and the drop height is significant, so impact is concentrated on the belt body. If the carcass material has too much elongation, the belt body can develop interply displacement and edge slack under continuous impact, which later shows up as belt misalignment and splice cracking. EP550 is a relatively heavy-duty grade in the EP series and is suitable for carcass configuration in long-distance, high-load transfer sections after primary crushing. In this order, EP550 is also the main specification.

EP350: The Main Carcass Layer for Cement and Building Materials Lines

EP350 is better suited to cement and building materials conveying scenarios with medium loads and continuous operation. In Uzbekistan’s dry-process cement lines and limestone crushing lines, the requirements for the carcass in sections such as raw meal feed to the mill and clinker conveying are centered on the balance between dimensional stability and troughability, rather than extreme impact resistance.

EP350 sits in the mid-range of the EP series. It provides enough modulus to maintain belt stability over long-distance operation without sacrificing troughing flexibility due to excessive thickness. For the building materials capacity that continues to expand around Tashkent and Samarkand, this is a pragmatic selection range.

EP150: The Light-Load Choice for Auxiliary Conveying Lines

In this type of order, EP150 usually corresponds to auxiliary conveying scenarios, such as short-distance transfer, finished product conveying after screening, and packaging line feeding. These positions have low loads and short distances. Using EP150 can meet strength requirements while reducing belt weight and operating energy consumption.

Using EP550 in these positions would be over-specification; conversely, using EP150 in the primary crushing section would create a reliability risk. The coexistence of three specifications in one order is itself a practical exercise in selection layered by process section.

Shipping to Uzbekistan: Certification and Documents Must Be Aligned in Advance

Conveyor belts and carcass materials entering Uzbekistan generally involve GOST-UZ (O‘z DST) compliance requirements, and conveyor belts are among the categories that require conformity assessment. The specific coverage, standard numbers and shipping document list should be confirmed before the order.

During order execution, we prepare the corresponding product documents and shipping documents in parallel to avoid customs clearance delays after the goods arrive due to incomplete documentation. For Uzbek buyers currently evaluating Chinese suppliers, one practical criterion is: do not look only at the strength figures on the quotation. Ask the supplier to also explain the certification coverage, standard numbers and shipping document list for that specification. When these three are clear, the goods are more likely to move directly into customs clearance and installation after arrival.

Three Parameter Tips for Uzbek Buyers Currently Selecting Belting Fabric

First, confirm the operating temperature range. Uzbekistan has a pronounced continental climate, and both high summer temperatures and low winter temperatures affect the rubber cover and the carcass bonding system. EP belting fabric itself has good heat resistance, but the applicable temperature of the finished conveyor belt depends on the cover rubber formulation and the interply adhesion system. Selection should use the actual working temperature of the belt surface as an input condition.

Second, distinguish between instantaneous impact and continuous abrasion. EP550 addresses the impact elongation caused by large ore lumps at the moment of drop. For high-speed abrasive conditions with fine particles, the wear resistance grade of the cover rubber is more critical than further increasing fabric strength.

Third, confirm whether the supplier organizes production according to standards such as DIN 22102 and GOST. Standard numbers are not decorative; they directly relate to whether interply adhesion strength and cover performance can be verified. Our EP belting fabric system covers DIN 22102 and related strength grades, and corresponding test document summaries can be supplied with the shipment.
