Boost your rubber vulcanization efficiency with our MBT accelerator, delivering fast curing speed, excellent scorch safety, and reliable performance for natural and synthetic rubber compounds.
Overview Our MBT (2-Mercaptobenzothiazole) is a versatile and efficient primary accelerator that delivers balanced performance in various rubber compounding applications. As one of the most widely used accelerators in the rubber industry, it provides reliable vulcanization characteristics for both natural and synthetic rubber polymers.
Key Features & Advantages
Delivers fast curing speed at vulcanization temperatures, ensuring efficient production cycles and reduced manufacturing costs.
Maintains excellent scorch safety with moderate processing security, allowing sufficient time for mixing and shaping operations before vulcanization begins.
Serves as a universal accelerator with excellent compatibility across multiple rubber types including natural rubber, SBR, and neoprene.
Produces vulcanizates with good aging resistance and mechanical properties, ensuring long-term product durability and performance reliability.
Functions effectively as both a primary accelerator and an activating agent in complex accelerator systems, offering formulation flexibility.

Uses: Mainly used in IR (isoprene rubber), NR (natural rubber), SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber), NBR (nitrile rubber), HR (butyl rubber), and EPDM systems. It is currently a major acidic vulcanizing agent with moderate vulcanization speed, and can achieve higher activity when used with alkaline vulcanizing agents such as DM and TMTD. Its vulcanization temperature is low, it is easy to disperse in rubber, and it is non-polluting. It is mainly used in the production of tires, belts, shoes, and other industrial rubber products, but cannot be used in food-grade applications.
